Open Up the BayWalk - Southgate Towers is asking for certain privileges, and in exchange The WAvNA board is insisting that Southgate Tower open their Baywalk NOW. This section of the Baywalk was built 4 years ago and has remained locked down 24/7. This is unacceptable.
Prohibit Suite-Hotels: Our neighborhood asked the city commission to stop the proliferation of short-term rental units and the commissioners listened. This ordinance would grandfather-in existing suite-hotels and prohibit any new ones. Recently, over 500 "naturally occurring" affordable apartment units have converted into hotels. Residents are being kicked out of their apartments in favor of transient lodging. We are losing our community. Enough is Enough.
