Submit your abstract!
Due to COVID-19 the 7th annual Michigan Physiological Society conference was cancelled at Ferris State University. In light of the circumstances, the Executive Committee recently decided to continue with publishing a 2020 program. Thus, MPS has opened a call for abstracts to highlight the work of our members.

Abstracts can be re-used, such as past Experimental Biology submissions.  In addition, we welcome abstracts which include preliminary findings or anticipated results, as we understand much research has been disrupted or halted.

There is no charge to submit an abstract.
Please visit: https://apsmichigan.org/abstract-submission/
Abstract collection will close Monday, June 1st.

MPS would to like to host a virtual physiology conference, trainees will be provided the opportunity to present their work via Zoom. Tentatively, the virtual conference would be held June 25 or 26th (the dates of the originally planned conference) with more details to follow such as a speaker's time slot schedule and registration information.  Whether you present or not, your abstract will be published in our MPS program, so get your abstracts in ASAP!

Other news
Michigan Physiological Society congratulates former MPS president and founding member, Dr. Erica Wehrwein, for her work in advancing undergraduate physiology programs. She is featured on the cover of the Physiologist Magazine.

In the coming months, the executive committee hopes to lead several discussions related to how physiology is changing the face of this global pandemic.  In addition to sharing resources through our website/social media (check out this recent article from the American College Health Association), we hope to facilitate conversations among the membership to share ideas and discuss what matters to you most.  Such topics might include: the evolving teaching landscape, how we proceed with research, or trainee support.  If you have discussion topic suggestions, or have an interest in participating in potential panel discussions, please email or reach out to any of our Executive Committee Members.
