Welcome to the May issue of Golfing NSW.

We had so many entries in last month's competition for the ultimate iso-prize - the PUTT18 putting mat game and practice mat. A big congratulations to our two lucky winners, Philip Rolfe and Mary Jane Ursu, who answered the following rules question correctly:

When the edge of ground under repair is defined by a line on the ground, the line itself is in the ground under repair - true or false?

The correct answer is true - under the definition of Ground Under Repair - when defined by a painted line on the ground, the edge of the ground under repair is the outside edge of the line, and the line itself is in the ground under repair.

In this month's issue...win one of three ladies or three men's Cutter & Buck jackets, take advantage of a special reader offer from Putt18, see the latest events update from Golf NSW, and enter our photo competition!

Until next month...we hope you enjoy the issue, stay safe and healthy, and wish you good golfing.

P.S. Remember to keep to social distancing guidelines...let's maintain a culture that keeps golf courses open.
Winter is almost upon us, and there is a chill in the air. This month's prize will keep you snug and warm on and off the course.

Enter this month's competition for your chance to win one of three Ladies Mainsail Hooded Jackets or three Men's Mainsail Jackets from Cutter & Buck - valued at over $200 each. Your choice of colour and size.

Win one of these six great prizes, by answering a simple question on the rules...
We are so fortunate to have continued playing golf in NSW and the ACT during the COVID-19 crisis.

The ability to escape isolation, exercise, and enjoy the outdoors has provided much relief for existing golfers, and for many who have rediscovered their passion for the game.

Last month's newsletter competition prize was the Putt18 - an innovative and fun putting mat game that can help you improve your putting as well as having lots of fun playing a variety of golf games!

This month, Glenn, the designer of Putt18 is offering an exclusive 10% discount to Golfing NSW subscribers.

With so many golfers out on course exercising and escaping isolation, the number of hole-in-one achievers has grown significantly from last month.

A total of 18 golfers achieved an ace since our last newsletter, including Sharon Le Strange from Pambula-Merimbula Golf Club - way to go Sharon!

With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, Golf NSW has been reviewing its 2020 Event Calendar.

Just click on the following links for updates on Major PennantT L Warren & W Gibson Pennant, Eric Apperly Shield, The Master Pennant, Year Long Women's Events. The NSW Senior Amateur and NSW Srixon Mid-Amateur Championships have been rescheduled. We hope you'll join us - there's an event for everyone!
The last few weeks have seen some incredible golf course photos posted on social media. Just like this one from Rocco Pirello, a member at Northbridge Golf Club who captured this great shot on the 3rd hole.

Do you have a great photo of your course to share? We'd love to see it and will publish it in next month's newsletter.

The best image (as determined by a Golf NSW panel), will win a great prize...

Have you been studying the Rules of Golf in isolation? Take this month's quiz to test your knowledge.

Don't forget that the R&A also offers a selection of quizzes from Beginner to Advanced - it's a great way to learn the rules, and keep up to date.

With the COVID-19 pandemic affecting everyone’s daily lives, more of us have time at home to perhaps achieve a better knowledge of the Rules of Golf. Golf is a self-regulating game and it's up to all of us to know the rules and apply them correctly.

The R&A Rules Academy is an online resource for golfers of all levels and experience which provides an interesting and easy way to learn the Rules of Golf, culminating in an optional Level 1 Exam.
Why not get started now!

Do you have an interesting story to share about your Club? A great achievement, an incredible volunteer, a new initiative?
We'd love to hear from you! We are always on the lookout for stories for our newsletter. Just email your details and your story idea to info@golfnsw.org.au, and we will be in touch.
And...if your story is published, you will receive two dozen Srixon golf balls!

We look forward to hearing from you.
