Interact: A new CLT blog

Proctorio Practice Site:
CLT and Academic Skills collaboration 

With uncertainty surrounding the use of a remotely proctored examinations, the new ANU Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) looked to Academic Skills for guidance and instead found a collaborative partner. Without fear of favour, it was clear the introduction of “Proctorio” to students and staff would require considerable exposure to the unfamiliar concept if they were to feel at all comfortable. Criminological Imaginations – The Barry King Story

The “news video” above introduced Criminology students to their CRIM1001 lectures – inviting them to participate in the course with an imaginative twist. Students were immersed in the world of “Criminological Imaginations”, a consulting firm hired by corrupt politician Barry King and his “Crime-Free Canberra” Party – all part of a creative course redesign spearheaded by the Interactive Learning Project (iLEAP). and Learning

The Foundations of University Teaching and Learning program resumed via ZOOM in mid-May. ANU Distinguished Educator Professor John Minns co-facilitated the first session. READ MORE

Principles of Tutoring and Demonstrating

Principles of Tutoring and Demonstrating (PTD) returns in Semester 2 with an intensive offering in O-Week and a weekly offering across the whole of the second semester. Both offerings will be online. READ MORE

The Role of Evaluations in Interactive Learning

A fundamental tenet of interactive learning is that course redesign be applied through evidence-based decisions and careful consideration of student experience. The Interactive Learning Project (iLEAP) represents a unique opportunity to develop quality online resources through evaluations of existing teaching practices and implementing interactive learning principles. Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence in Education

In March the 2020 Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence in Education were put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. Remote teaching activities and support services were a priority for many ANU staff. READ MORE

Educational Fellowship Scheme

The Educational Fellowship Scheme (EFS) recently welcomed 14 new Fellows to the scheme, with an additional 18 Fellows set to be approved throughout June. READ MORE

ANU Extension

High achieving Year 11 students were welcomed to a virtual ANU campus via a ZOOM session to mark the beginning of their ANU Extension journey.  The welcome provided by DVC (Academic) Professor Grady Venville, inclusive of her dog Honey, was well received and add a little fun and informality. Continuing Education - Looking Ahead 

Energy is starting to build again as the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) forges ahead towards Terms 3 & 4. Recent challenges have given rise to an enthusiasm for seizing opportunities and seeing the positives in our current circumstances. READ MORE

The International Council for open and Distance Education (ICDE) Quality Network is hosting a webinar on ‘International reflections on lessons learned during COVIDI9' - looking at quality assurance in assessment.
