Tele-Town Hall on Insurance & 
Small Business Resources 

Please join California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara and State Senator Jerry Hill for a telephone town hall on insurance issues and available resources for small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic emergency.

"With many businesses experiencing tremendous economic loss, it is imperative for you to have up-to-date information on services and resources. Experts from the U.S. Small Business Administration, the San Mateo County Economic Development Association (SAMCEDA), and the Cities Association of Santa Clara County will also join us in the event being hosted by the Commissioner and the Department of Insurance."

The tele-town hall will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 1:00PM - 2:00PM. Click for more information on the event.

Magic Johnson is Offering
$100 Million in Loans to Minority & Women-Owned Small Businesses

In an article on Upworthy, "Most minority-owned small businesses were not able to take advantage of the short-term loans being offered by the federal government during the onset of the coronavirus. Thankfully, basketball legend Magic Johnson is here to help."

Through his EquiTrust Life Insurance Company, "...Johnson has partnered with MBE Capital Partners to source $100 million in loans to minority and women-owned small businesses. The loans will be distributed through the same federal government program that is currently issuing small business loans but will be earmarked to target businesses in need."
