If we can responsibly sit in a restaurant, why not the beach? Use of the boardwalk is needed for public safety!

"My wife and I have two children, 2 years and 4 months. We are unable to use the stroller on the sand so we walk with our kids on the sidewalks or alleyways. Both options present constant safety issues as we maneuver to avoid vehicles and road repairs. If we choose the tight sidewalks there are cars going in and out of the alleyways between each court. If we choose Strandway or Bayside Lane we are walking in a road so cars are constant. While we understand and appreciate the public health orders, it's important to be able to safely get outside with your children. With the current conditions in Mission Beach, this is not possible."

This is one of many examples we have received from concerned constituents. Mission Beach (along with the rest of San Diego) has done an incredible job over the last two months, we deserve the opportunity to safely and responsibly reopen our beach and boardwalk to use the needed space they provide for our community.

Please contact our city leaders to share your story and encourage the safe reopening of the beach and boardwalk. We are ready!
