By signing up to the APS Data Network, the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (the department) may collect personal information, including but not limited to first and last names, email addresses, and agency information.
The department may collect and use this information for the purpose of sending subscribers emails about networking and collaboration events, whole of government data reform projects and other data related information.
We collect personal information directly from you when you complete the online sign-up form.
We use Mailchimp to manage these subscriptions. Mailchimp is based in the United States, so your information may be transmitted to and stored on servers located outside Australia. In signing up to the APS Data Network, you will be taken to have consented to your personal information being used as described above. This means:

It outlines how you may access your personal information the department holds and seek the correction of it. The policy also provides information on how an individual may complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles and how the complaint will be dealt with.
