Nearly half of our residents enter into our program without a high school diploma. Thanks to you, they don't leave Amethyst Place the same. Your support empowers our residents to continue their education and pursue their career goals. This spring we honor and recognize the achievements of our three college graduates; Emily, Mandy and Victoria.
Mandy shared, “I started school while I was at Amethyst and was able to only work part time and sometimes not at all so I could focus on school. I went to MCCKC-Penn Valley Nursing School. I got my Associate’s Degree in Nursing so I'm a Registered Nurse. Without Amethyst I would have never dreamed I could accomplish something like this and take care of my kids at the same time. But I did it. And now I am working at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa as a Nurse Tech until I pass my boards this summer. After that I have been offered a job as an RN on a Med-Surg telemetry/psych observation unit. I plan to pursue my Master’s through an RN to MSN bridge program starting in January.”
