Click here to contribute to the UU Meeting House Congregation and its many blessings in all of our lives and on our island communuity!
Dear Friends~
Last week zoom had a glitch and many of you could not get in to service. We did gather with who we could and had a lovely service of music, joys and concerns and impromptu blessings. This coming Sunday, we will have LoraKim Joyner with us for real!
Hope you can make it.
With joy for this new way of being together and what it asks of us,
Rev. Linda
This Week's Reflection
Sunday May 24th, 10:45am

The Grace of Beauty and Tragedy

Rev. Dr. LoraKim Joyner, DVM

Service Leader, Susan Richards

We will reflect on how we deal with overwhelming beauty and tragedy in our lives.  We open our hearts to both, what we might call grace, so that we can be liberated and liberate others.

Rev. Dr. LoraKim Joyner, DVM, combines her experience as wildlife veterinarian, Certified Trainer in Nonviolent Communication, and Unitarian Universalist minister to address the importance of both human and nonhuman well being in living a deeply meaningful and vibrant life, as well as caring for other animals, self, family, relationships, organizations, and life all around us.   She serves as Community Minister affiliated with the Community Unitarian Church at White Plains, NY, and Co-Director of One Earth Conservation . Bringing 33+ years of experience as a veterinary conservationist working in Latin America, she currently has projects in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Guyana, Paraguay, Suriname, French Guiana, and expanding to Brazil.

Sue's Sunday Suggestion:
REBOOT!  Every once in a while, it's important to power off your desktop, laptop, tablet and smart phone.  I know we all just put the device down and walk away most of the time, but it's good for any of these devices to get powered off.  When you restart you might receive some software updates which may result in faster performance. This will also help prevent you from those inconvenient times you are forced to shut down and start over.
As per the special e-blast from Rev. Linda, see new links and sign in information below.

Sunday May 24th - Launch Your Sail

This Sunday we're creating BOATS fit to LAUNCH--fairy sized, that is! Yet kids will be learning to build one for their OWN size as well, if they take on the "scale-it-up!" challenge afterwards with parent supervision. That's because we'll be using the ancient technique of the straw canoe, which is still used in places around the world. Best of all, there is no better place to collect it's simple materials than Nantucket! Even kids joining from elsewhere can participate though, with just a ball of twine/string and some kitchen scissors to get them started. See you at noon-Zoom for some teeny-tiny, full-scale FUN!

Don't miss this special time for children and youth to create and talk and play!

 With love,
Your C-WE Team!
