On reading the grant guidelines, some farmers are under the impression they won't get this grant. ALL farmers in catchments affected by fire are strongly encouraged to apply.
The grant has been designed in partnership with industry to address:
- Impact of ash (clearing baskets / graders / outboards)
- Damage to leases and hours spent clearing debris & flotsam (clearing debris / removal / tipping fees)
- Lease repair & infrastructure replacement
- Stock loss
- Repair or purchase of shellfish cultivation equipment as critical infrastructure to aid business recovery (eg. stock growing and insufficient gear to grade / thin into - new gear can be purchased with this grant as critical infrastructure to aid business recovery)
Farmers are already getting this grant money paid out - so applications are being assessed quickly. Don't be the one to miss out.
