Lostwithiel Newsletter June 2020

Dear Subscriber,                                                                     

This strange year, May brought us a wonderful month of almost unbroken sunshine, while June comes in cool, cloudy and windy. Nothing is quite what we usually expect, and we have all had to quickly adapt to a very different life since March.

This month, though the risk level from Covid19 remains high, more regulations are being eased; schools, non-essential shops and other businesses are beginning to reopen, though not quite as we knew them before the pandemic. We can cautiously meet up again, outside and at a 2m distance, and the town is already becoming much busier.

These next few months will be a test of whether any kind of  'normal' life is possible alongside the precautions needed to prevent a resurgence of the virus locally, nationally or internationally. We will be finding out how we can live with Covid19, not as an immediate emergency but as a fact of life in 2020. 

Lostwithiel Newsletter will reflect this; while the past few months have been overwhelmingly devoted to providing local coronavirus crisis information as a public service, from July this will be included but more concisely, and the rest of the content will be up to you, Lostwithiel, both advertisers and news contributors.

We have had many expressions of appreciation and support for our Covid19 editions, and hope we can count on that support as we begin to reflect Lostwithiel's 'new normal' in the second half of 2020. Keep in touch and keep well.
