When we started The PEAK Fleet, we based the company on values of Persistence, Empathy, Authenticity, and Kindness. In addition, we are a triple-bottom line company with a priority on people and the planet first, then profit. We believe Black Lives Matter.

This time calls for us to facilitate and demonstrate empathy. To listen to voices that have been silenced and marginalized. To do the work as allies. To help in our capacity as facilitators and human resource consultants to drive essential change.

Ending the systemic racism that exists in our society will take persistence. We stand unafraid of helping drive change. We must stand up against racism. We must repair and heal the wounds of centuries of oppression.

Back in 2016, we chose this picture of the Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial for our website:

Dr. King's quote, as poignant today as it was in 1963 when he first penned the words, can be found in his book, Strength to Love. The fuller passage reads: “Why should we love our enemies? The first reason is fairly obvious. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness implies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction.”

As we look to the future, we remain optimistic that together, we can be better.
