This week we welcome the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions to allow museums, galleries, venues and businesses to re-open. The Australia Council for the Arts have published a very useful resource to help individual practitioners and arts organisations to comply with government guidelines to recommence practice and open doors to welcome audiences, visitors and customers.

Get to know our RADO Network
|
|
We are delighted to share with you a detailed introduction to our network, through the launch of the RADO Case Study E-book.
The E-book provides insight into the value that the RADOs bring to their communities both as individual organisations and as a united network that advocates for the importance and success of regional artists. It demonstrates examples of the innovative practices and programs that the RADOs have undertaken and highlights the impact that this network has within each community they operate.
The projects highlighted in the E-book span from the north-eastern pocket of the Northern Rivers to the far-western edge of The Darling, along the banks of The Murray River, across the sweeping plains of The Riverina and everywhere in-between. Our aim is that this E-book will shed light on the work that our network does with the artists, organisations and cultures that play an integral part in shaping that arts across regional NSW. Re-Ignite - A Framework for the Arts & Cultural Sectors in a COVID-19 Environment

The Australia Council for the Arts has been listening to arts and cultural organisations, peak bodies and independent artists about the impacts of COVID-19 and the changes needed to re-ignite arts and cultural activity across the country.
As a result, they have produced a two-part response: Re-activate which supports jurisdictional compliance; and Re-imagine that seeks to influence the national response to COVID-19.
- Re-activate – is a practical, user-friendly guide for independent artists and organisations. It outlines how to confidently comply with government guidelines to recommence practice and open doors to welcome audiences, visitors and customers. It complies with the existing requirements of steps 2 and 3 of the Australian Government’s 3-Step Framework for a COVIDSafe Australia.
- Re-imagine – will be an industry plan beyond the current step 3. The plan will position arts and cultural activity at the heart of the nation’s recovery. It will seek to influence aspects of steps 2 and 3 that impact the viability and real recovery of the industry. The focus will be on steps 4 and 5; offering conditions under which arts and cultural activity is both possible, and viable, for the industry to move from responding to thriving. This expected to be completed and available by mid-June.

ICYMI: Reconciliation Week Artists Feature

Last week we celebrated National Reconciliation Week (27 May - 3 June), in recognition of Indigenous history and culture and our commitment to working together and continuing the journey of reconciliation. We featured the work of some our talented local Aboriginal artists from the Worimi, Biripi, Dunghutti and Gumbaynggir nations on Instagram which you can see on our online gallery.

CUTS TO THE BONE & ALONE is a politically themed, online members exhibition from The Art Space Urunga.
Artists are encouraged to present work that in some way reflects on the impact of the government cuts to the arts sector and/or the effects on artists due to COVID 19.

Sculpture in the Gaol is now accepting submissions for their 20:20 Online Exhibition.
The online gallery is designed to provide a free-access retail channel, will comprise 20 works by 20 artists and is scheduled to launch on Saturday 1st August 2020.
Entry is free with the first round closing on Friday 24th July. Sales commission has been waived until the end of the year. Visit website for more details.
