Stop the Presses... We've Launched a New Website!
Ever since our humble beginnings (we're still pretty humble, by the way), our aim has been to make it easier and more engaging to explore the growing roster of Drums & Wires artists. We want the time you spend on our site to be useful and satisfying. To accomplish this we have launched a new website, and we can't wait for you to check it out! Read below for more details about some of the changes we have made, or better yet see for yourself by visiting the site now.
Support Artists During the Pandemic
As we all know, this thing ain't over yet. Drums & Wires will continue to support our artists during these uncertain times by waiving 100% of our share of sales every day until the end of June. Every day.
20% Off Every Title in the Drums & Wires Catalog
To celebrate the launch of our new website, and to continue putting more money back in the hands of our artists by encouraging you to take a chance on some new music, every title in the catalog is 20% off until Sunday, June 7th at 11:59 PST. Now is definitely the time to go on that music spending spree!
More Great Music Available Now & Coming Soon!
We're pleased to welcome several new artists to Drums & Wires Recordings now and in the coming weeks; the music of folk-rock, blues and jazz singer-songwriter JR Rhodes and country-folk-rock band Old Ghost is available now. Read on for more about these wonderful artists.
The music of longtime Seattle folk-rock artist Reggie Garrett will be available on June 8th, and our favorite interpersonal pop, folk and rock friends Long Wasted will be dropping their debut EP exclusively on Drums & Wires Recordings on June 19th! You can preview Reggie and Long Wasted now by taking a Sneak Peek with your ears.

Introducing JR Rhodes
Listened to as a whole (as albums should be), the songs on JR Rhodes' most recent outing I Am offer a narrative of the songwriter's life and longings; her beautifully human need to become herself ("look, Mama, no hands as I make my own way" from the song Aeroplane); her longing to feel deeply but to also let her burdens go ("lay the worry down, the load you carry’s not your own"); her need to escape ("big fat Cadillac, take me for a ride, I wanna go anywhere but here"); and ultimately her yearning for peace of mind ("when I live my truth I am myself... you’re sweet, Freedom").
I Am is folk, rock, blues and traces of jazz, bopping and swaying, soaring and swinging, from song to song providing the foundation for Rhodes' rich, resonant voice and tuneful melodicism to guide us into the soulfulness of her inner life

What began as a means for Chris Eckman and Carla Torgerson to showcase the songs of The Walkabouts during promotional tours for that group evolved into a new format for band leader Eckman to channel his prolific songwriting.
We are deeply honored to present to you the intimate music of Chris & Carla.

Old Ghost recorded an EP and a full length album showcasing the country-folk-rock songwriting of Paul Hutzler. In addition to being the singer, guitarist and songwriter for Old Ghost, Hutzler is an excellent pedal-steel guitar player who has made appearances on numerous albums including Davidson Hart Kingsbery's self-titled album.
When we announced Old Ghost in early May another excellent pedal steel player by the name of Jon Hyde gave us two thumbs up (does FB do the thumb thing?), so we know we must be on to something here.

Whiting Tennis brings the Outsider Artist Aesthetic to Drums & Wires Recordings
Whiting Tennis is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and fine artist known for his painting and sculpture. Whiting Tennis the musician is also an enigma. While his music certainly can be filed under low-fi folk rock, these words seem too lazy a description.
Those of you who love the Neil Young will appreciate the music of Whiting Tennis.
