Hey, Pipers!
And a big welcome to the new subscribers!
The past month has been a turbulent one. The COVID-19 pandemic taught us to distance ourselves from each other. At the same time, after George Floyd‘s tragic case, Donald Trump was policing the American society that already had enough guns pulled out at wrong moments.
The epidemiologists don’t want us to get close to each other, and the forces of order are dispersing the public gatherings for better America, sometimes brutally.
“Taking social distance” is one of the most detestable instructions we’re hearing in these times that want to see us divided and alone. I’m not talking about the physical distance between each other, as this is certainly something that helps us fight the coronavirus transmission. But “social distance” is just the wrong term. These are the times when social togetherness should triumph instead!
We should definitely be aware of the health risks and follow the precaution measures, but that doesn’t mean we should stop caring for others. These are still not apocalyptic times, and stocking the toilet paper just for yourself will not erase all this shit. Caring about each other might!
In this slightly revamped newsletter edition (do let me know what you think about the new format!), I bring you some of the articles to reflect on!
Thank you for being part of Pipeaway’s journey!
Or… Hvala!
That’s ‘thank you’ in Croatian!
Take care!
