Maintaining Ministry While Quarantined

Peru continues one of the longest and strictest quarantines in the world and it will continue until at least June 30. For an interesting read on the situation here check out this article.

Perhaps now more than ever, relationships and creativity are important components of carrying out ministry. I recently finished up a series of morning devotions on Philippians on Facebook Live. I also continue to share the preaching load for our church which is being transmitted online as well on the radio. Finally, I have been able to spend some good time talking over the phone and through chat with various pastors that are part of our Bible institute. These conversations have been encouraging and mutually edifying. While the online and radio ministries are not what I would have imagined I would be doing as this year began it is a great blessing to take advantage of continued ministry opportunities which have viewers and listeners throughout Latin America.

Your Generosity Reaching More in Need
By God's grace we have been able to pass on your generosity, through our church, to those in need by helping to provide basic necessities for families within our church and city as well as fifty pastors' families who are suffering from Covid-19 in another part of the country. In fact, most Peruvians live on a daily wage with no savings. Only half of all households own a refrigerator and one in three poor households have running water. Thus, the distribution of these daily necessities through our local church is crucial for the approximately 100 families we are serving. Thank you for your generosity which is helping so many who are living in truly desperate situations.

Titus- I enjoy our family olympics that we have done.
Nora - That I am learning a lot of new things like how to grill.
Ellie - That we have a family night every night.
Jill - Playing with my brothers and sisters.

Prayer Requests
  • That the quarantine would indeed be lifted on July 1.
  • Wisdom in how to best procede with trainings once the quarantine is lifted.
  • That love, patience, joy, and peace characterize our household.
