Fellowship Highlight

Dr. Pablo Garcia works with Guatemalan NGO to mitigate COVID-19 through telemedicine

The Secretaria Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologia in Guatemala opened funding opportunities to implement projects that bring solutions to the problems presented by Covid-19 in Guatemala. Dr. Garcia worked alongside the NGO Maya Health Alliance to develop a proposal to implement telemedicine in Guatemala as a potential solution to mitigate Covid-19 in some communities.

Dr. Garcia and Maya Health Alliance's proposal was selected as the winner and they were given an award from the Guatemalan Vice President. In this stage, they are getting the Guatemalan government's support to sell the idea to potential funders, and haven't yet received funding. Stay tuned for more information as it develops.
