Celebrating Communion on June 7

Two Options for Observing Holy Communion

1. Communion will be Celebrated during our two worship service broadcasts this week. In preparation for this time, we invite you to gather bread and juice for all who will worship with you. Further instruction will be given during the broadcast.

2. Drive Thru Communion will be offered on site at the church from Noon until 1pm on Sunday June 7. We invite you to enter our parking lot from the traffic light on Second and Adams and then follow the guidance of our volunteers directing traffic. Vehicles will form two lines to approach the communion serving stations which will be located in the parking lot between the alley and Fourth Street and clearly marked. Communion will be served to you while you remain in your vehicle.

Shop, Drop, and Roll Drive

After a strong support of our first Shop, Drop and Roll Drive in May, we invite you to help again. Food received this month will help to re-stock the Bread of Life Food Pantry in the church office. Food bags are assembled from the pantry inventory and delivered weekly to local families in need.

1. SHOP for any items on the list, keep all items in their original packaging and place them in your car’s trunk.
2. DROP by the church office (Dennis Hall) on June 9^th from 9am-2pm. Stay in your car, volunteers will unload your donated items.

Staples
· Canned vegetables
· Canned fruit
· Rice (1 pound bags)
· Dried beans [one pound bag]
· Ranch style beans
· Dried milk [quart size packet]

Proteins
· Canned tuna or chicken
· Vienna sausage or Spam
· Small peanut butter

Ready to Heat
· Canned meals [spaghetti, or ravioli]
· Beef stew or chili
· Soup [chunky and condensed]

Other Boxed and Canned Goods
· Macaroni and cheese
· Instant oatmeal
· Individual boxes of dry cereal
· Small jelly
· Crackers
· Assorted fruit and/or granola bars
· Assorted snacks for all ages
· Mashed potatoes [Packets or small boxes]

Drive Thru Prayer Resumes Friday June 5th
9:00am-10:00am

Stop by Valet Cleaners and Laundry (Temple) on the Corner of 57th Street and Scott. Pastor Brian and the Prayer Team will have their masks on and available to pray with you while staying at least 6 feet from your vehicle.

Upper Room Devotionals Can be Delivered!

The May-June edition and the July-August editions of Upper Room have arrived at the church. Please contact kay.birkholz@fumctemple.org if you would like to have a large or regular print delivered (social distancing) to your door this week while supply last.

Children’s Department Summer Sunday School!

We are still having Sunday School this summer via Zoom! Please make sure that you are subscribed to the Children's Department Newsletter, or checking the website at www.fumctemple.org/connect/children to stay up to date on everything related to the Children's Department.
Mrs. Goodfellow's 3rd-5th grade class will meet at 8:30am, and Mrs. Emily Lincoln's PK-2nd will meet at 9:20am. Meeting ID and links are on the website. If you have any questions, please direct them to children@fumctemple.org

FUMC TEMPLE PRESCHOOL UPDATE

The Drive Through Parade on June 4th for our students was a success. We honored our Pre-K Graduates and students said Good bye to their teachers for the Summer.

We will resume our preschool program in the Fall 2020. At this time all of our spots in the fall have been filled. If you have questions please contact Tara Sutherland, Director by email, tara.sutherland@fumctemple.org.

To access the worship service video, please go to: https://fumctemple.org/church-online and click the link for Facebook (account required) or YouTube. An e-mail is sent out each Sunday morning with the bulletin and link to access the online worship service. If you have not been receiving these weekly e-mail messages, please contact the office to request your name be added to the list. 254.773.5269 or contact@fumctemple.org .
