COVID-19 Resources for Residents & Businesses
“There are so many residents and businesses in our community that are struggling because of this pandemic,” said Mayor Yolanda Ford. “We can only overcome this crisis together as a community, so I encourage each of you to share vital resources and information to those in need, whether it be about food donations, job openings, financial assistance or more. Let’s join together in this fight, and help our City move forward.”
Fort Bend Launches Landlord and Mortgage Enrollment Program 
Fort Bend County is encouraging landlords and mortgage companies to participate in the “Landlord and Mortgage Enrollment Program” so that they may receive payments faster from tenants who are eligible for payment through the “Mortgage, Rental & Utilities Program.”

The first phase of the Mortgage, Rental & Utility Assistance Program is temporarily suspended due to maximum applications; next phase will begin July 20.

Front line workers who are looking for commuter housing opportunities may contact local hotels in Missouri City for availability. There are four hotels including Hampton Inn & Suites and Holiday Inn Express & Suites within the City.

Hurricane Season Is Under Way | Staff Closely Monitoring Tropical Storm Cristobal
The 2020 Hurricane Season officially got under way on June 1, and runs through Monday, Nov. 30. MCTX officials and staff are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Cristobal and encourage residents to prepare ahead including storing COVID-19 essentials like masks/facial coverings, disinfectants, etc. For emergency updates and alerts, follow official City outlets:

The applications for the Community Development Block Grant, CDBG Housing Rehabilitation and CDBG Post-Secondary Educational & Vocational Scholarship Program are now available on the City Website. Interested individuals must apply by Friday, July 3.

2020 Community Survey: Shows Gains in Public Safety ǀ Solid Waste ǀ Parks & Recreation; Emergency Preparedness ǀ Shows Decline in Communications

The survey was mailed to a random sample of 3,000 of Missouri City’s 75,000 residents earlier this year and the goal was to achieve participation citywide. Approximately 420 responses were received and the City improved in several key areas compared to the 2018 survey. Read More

Animal Services Investigates Animal Cruelty Complaint

City staff served a warrant on Wednesday, June 3 in the Meadowcreek subdivision to investigate a complaint of animal neglect. Missouri City Animal Services Officers, with assistance from the Missouri City Police department, conducted a search and seized 28 cats, 3 dogs, 1 rabbit and 1 African grey parrot.

“Show Me City” Mourns the Loss of Former MCPD Detective Caleb Rule

The City is grieving the death of former Police Department Detective Caleb Rule, who recently died in the line of duty. Rule served as a sworn MCPD officer from 2004 to 2018 before joining Fort Bend County Precinct 4 as a Deputy Constable.
