HEN loves to share positive collective work in our community. The Students of the Halton District School Board have been working very hard these past few months on a climate emergency declaration.
This declaration is the first of its kind in Canada!
It is student-led, focussed, and driven.
The Climate Emergency Declaration was drafted by HDSB Student Trustees Matthew Burnes (Oakville Trafalgar HS) and Olivia Lau (White Oaks SS) and two Student Senator representatives on the HDSB Environmental Management Team, Luka Simeunovic (Garth Webb SS) and Claire Jung (Forest Trail PS), on behalf of all HDSB students. These 4 student champions need to be celebrated for their hard work, dedication, and drive to ensure climate action for our community. HEN would like to thank the HDSB for supporting this great work!
For more information on the declaration please read the HDSB Media Release. https://www.hdsb.ca/our-board/Pages/News/News-Description.aspx?NewsID=768
