These are difficult times and we understand you are stretched thin and stressed. It is awkward for us to be asking you to vote for the CBD renewal at this time, but either we renew the CBD now or the services will end on December 31, 2020.
I think you will agree, the neighborhood will be needing the CBD's supplemental services more than ever over the next 2-3 years. It is important to remember that the services the CBD provides are provided to each parcel, the CBD provides critical services to your property.
You should be receiving an official "mail-in" ballot from the SF Department of Elections this week in the mail. You will receive a separate ballot for each parcel you own in the Castro CBD footprint. The ballot will be mailed to the same address where you receive your property tax bill, please look for it.
This will be the 2nd and the last time you will be asked to vote to renew the Castro CBD. The ballot asks you to vote yes or no on the CBD's renewal. The Castro Community Benefit District Board and I ask you to please vote yes, sign the ballot and mail it back to the city as soon as possible. You will need to do this for each parcel you own. This means if you own multiple parcels you will need to vote, sign and mail back each ballot separately. If you own 2 parcels, you must vote, sign and mail back 2 ballots, 3 separate ballots if you own 3 parcels, etc.
The Castro CBD needs your support and your YES Vote to continue.
The Castro CBD's cleaning and graffiti removal services will end on December 31, 2020, if we are not renewed, as will all the other supplemental services we provide through fundraising (public safety, beautification, economic development & vitality).

Why Do We Have to Vote Again? THE ELECTION
The renewal of a Community Benefit District takes 2 votes from the property owners. The first vote was the petition phase which you sent back to the CBD in February and March. Once we passed the petition phase, the CBD is then allowed to go to the last phase, The Election.
This week you will receive an official ballot in the mail from the SF Dpt. of Elections for each parcel you own.
To continue the Castro Community Benefit District's services you must vote YES and Mail the Ballots BACK to the CITY ASAP. You will receive a separate ballot for each parcel you own. This means you will need to vote, sign and mail back each ballot you receive.
The ballot contains a flash drive, twist the top and the thumb will come out.
The flash drive contains information about the Castro CBD, the services provided and how the assessment fee is determined. That information can also be found on the Castro CBD's website. Click on the Management Plan, Management Plan Summary and/or the Engineer's Report.
Please review, vote, sign the ballot and mail back to the city as soon as possible!
