Top-up to local business grant funds

This scheme is now open for applications.

The guidance and an application form is available on the council website. If you believe you may be eligible, please fill out the application form.

The discretionary grants fund is aimed at small and micro businesses that have ongoing fixed property related costs and can demonstrate a significant drop of income due to the Coronavirus restriction measures.

You will need to have the necessary documents ready to upload as part of your application, when prompted.

Free webinars

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy is hosting a series of free webinars for businesses, based on topics around working safely during coronavirus. The webinars are for specific businesses from retail to construction and offices to working in people’s homes.

Re-opening and working safely

Information for businesses on working safely and re-opening to the public can be found under the  ‘Coronavirus – reopening and working safely’ tab here, found on our Business support and advice webpage.

This includes links to government guidance for all businesses on working safely during Coronavirus and specific information for retail businesses.

Getting to work after lockdown

With workers being told to avoid buses and trains for their commute to work post-lockdown, promoting cycling or e-biking (electric biking) among your employees could bring benefits to your business and your staff. It could help to reduce pressure on parking spaces, improve physical and mental health, and reduce air pollution. Government-supported Cycle to Work schemes offer a route for employers to encourage cycling and e-biking.  Please visit the Sustrans website, a charity that encourages walking and cycling.  A quick internet search will throw up participating cycle and e-bike retailers on our doorstep. Another option is checking out Chichester easit scheme. Join to access a range of incentives on cycling and e-biking.
