Blesma's VE Day Virtual choir
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of those Blesma Members, staff, and supporters who contributed to   the Blesma Virtual choir! The project was brought together to join in the Nation’s commemoration and celebration of the anniversary of VE Day in Europe – a a highly uplifting day of national solidarity, and the voices of our community really stood out among the crowd. Watch the finished video here.

Thanks to: Mike Screech, Martin Kettrick, Susi Rodgers Hartley, Janet Riddell, Boston Mwense, Dean Bartholemew, Frankie Mapes (The Drive Project), Nina Marshall, Alicia Lowes, Tracey Mooney, Rachel Yarrington and Jo Larkham
Blesma Widow Lillian celebrated her 99th Birthday this Month, and thanks to the power of social media, Blesma was able to send her gifts from every corner of the UK. After sharing the story on the Blesma West Facebook page, Members and Outreach officers in Scotland and Northern Ireland were quick to send their gifts and well wishes to be presented to Lillian.

Happy Birthday once again, from all of us at Blesma!
Blesma Member and acclaimed author Noel Harrower has been featured in a poetry anthology collated by the Oxford Brookes Poetry centre; My Teeth Don’t Chew On Shrapnel. The anthology is the product of the Veterans poetry workshops which have been run by the centre for Veterans of both the US and UK, and have included several Blesma Members alongside Noel.
Download the anthology, and learn more about the Oxford Brookes Veterans Poetry workshops here.
Members of the 34 Squadron, RAF Regiment are taking on the 7.5km Distance challenge. By walking, running, tab or leopard crawling 7.5km to raise money for Blesma! As each serviceman finishes his 7.5, he donates £7.50 to Blesma, and nominates another, to hopefully keep the challenge going. You can find out more or donate here.
Have you been taking part in Blesma's Virtual Quiz? Every Saturday at 8pm the Blesma quiz will be bringing people together from their living rooms, helping to raise vital funds. As many key fundraising events have been forced to cancel or postpone, this quiz will help to combat Blesma's loss of income.
If just 1 person people plays, it will pay for a phone call to an isolated veteran.

If nine people play they'll raise the £27 it costs to pay for a month-long course of adaptive weekly home workout classes for injured veterans, to keep mentally and physically well throughout the lockdown period. If we can achieve 65 people playing that will afford the £200 cost of a high-quality, lightweight wheelchair for a limb injured veteran.

There are cash prizes to be won for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

-Please share with your friends, family, and on your social media channels and join us for some fundraising fun -
