Recent Wood Additions

African Blackwood - Kiln Dried

Just received a new shipment of 1.5" African blackwood spindles.
Ambrosia Maple - Green/undried and Kiln Dried

Ambrosia maple contains streaks of color which are created when ambrosia beetles tunnel through living trees, where they leave behind traces of fungi which discolor the surrounding wood, producing a streaked effect.  All available pieces are individually graded for sufficiently heavy ambrosia streaking.  Kiln dried pieces available 2"-3" thick.
Ambrosia Sycamore - Green/undried

Ambrosia sycamore is much less common then the ambrosia maple we stock regularly.  Ambrosia streaks are typically somewhat larger, but not quite as densely packed as what is seen frequently in maple.  Very small quantity in stock.
Birch - Green/Undried

Recently added new pieces of birch to our inventory.  Many of the items currently in stock have varying amounts of black line spalting.

Black Limba - Kiln Dried

This wood contains really interesting marbled patterns of black and gray.  All blanks are carefully cut and hand selected to contain top quality colors and marbled patterns.
Black Walnut - Kiln Dried

Lots of beautifully colored 3" thick pieces currently in stock.  Some contain varying amounts of light curly figure.
Cherry - Green/Undried and Kiln Dried

Lots of green and dried cherry in stock, with more coming in a few weeks.

Maple Burl - Kiln Dried

Only a few pieces left in stock, but more on the way in the next couple of weeks.

Select Maple - Green/undried and Kiln Dried

Select maple is a byproduct of our production of ambrosia maple, curly maple, and/or spalted maple. While none of these pieces have heavy color and/or figure, they all contain varying amounts of unique character.  These pieces are an excellent value, and always remains one of our top-selling types of wood.
Shedua- Kiln Dried

Also known as ovangkol, mozambique and a variety of other names, this dense wood is closely related to bubinga.  It commonly contains varying amounts of curly or mottled figure.  Color ranges from medium to very dark brown with intermixed streaks of black.  Excellent wood to work with.
Sycamore- Green/undried and Kiln Dried

Select maple is a byproduct of our production of ambrosia maple, curly maple, and/or spalted maple. While none of these pieces have heavy color and/or figure, they all contain varying amounts of unique character.  These pieces are an excellent value, and always remains one of our top-selling types of wood.  We currently have 2" and 3" thick kiln dried pieces for sale.
Wenge- Kiln Dried

We've got 1.5" wenge spindles currently in stock and on sale!
White Limba- Kiln Dried

White limba is the same type of wood as black limba shown above, but with little to no black colors.  Many pieces will still contain black marbled patterns or orange streaks, but generally cover less than 20% of the turning blank.  Still an excellent wood to work with at an affordable price.
