Big news at Simple! 😍

Meet Heather, the new owner of Simple Organics!
There has been a lot of change here at Simple over the last few months! After over ten years in business, Simple Organics will now have a new owner. While there will be some great changes in the coming months, one thing that isn't going to change is our commitment to the community and customers. It was very important that we find the right person. Someone who would live true to the mission and vision and help it grow even more. Heather has an extensive background in health and wellness. She has worked with Simple Organics since 2011 helping plan women's wellness retreats and more. Many of you know her little brother Kevin who has worked in the store for years.

Although Troy will no longer be managing the day to day operations of the store, he will still be part of the Simple Organics family as the Wellness Director, helping to choose products, consult with questions, etc.
Troy will also continue to have his private practice here at the Simple Organics location.

A little bit about Heather:
Heather is a mom to two beautiful girls, Mackenzie (6) and Blake (1) and wife to Steven. Heather and Steven both grew up and graduated from Oxford and she's excited to be back here working in this community. Health and Wellness is something very important to Heather. She graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelors in Science- Wellness Health Promotion and Injury Prevention. She's a certified Wellness Practitioner through the National Wellness Institute and a certified Lactation Counselor. Heather has over 12 years of experience working in health and wellness in the private sector, government, community, institutional, and non-profit setting.

For the last five years she has been working at a non-profit in Flint focusing on Health and Wellness in the community teaching and managing several different physical activity, nutrition education, and mindfulness programs. She's currently finishing her Masters degree and plans to continue on and become a Doctor of Natural Medicine.

Heather could not ask for a better mentor than Troy and she's very thankful to have him continue to work at the store focusing on his private practice!

Heather plans to bring her public health and community wellness background into the store and host a variety of educational classes.

"I love teaching and want to continue to help families and the community here in Oxford. Breastfeeding is something that is very important to me. When I had my first daughter six years ago, I was living in Oxford and I had a very hard time finding any breastfeeding support or help. I became a CLC to not only gain the knowledge for myself but so that I could help my friends, family, and community by supporting new moms with their breastfeeding journey."

Starting in September we will have bi-weekly mommy and me meet ups at the store where any mom can come in and get free breastfeeding help, sip on some tea, enjoy some snacks, and get the much needed support from myself and other moms. Heather is looking forward to meeting everyone, most of you have been hearing her over the phone for the last four months and it will be nice for her to put a face to all of your names! We hope you all come and join us for a ribbon cutting ceremony in August!
