Curbside lending is off to a GREAT start!
As excited as I was to announce the start of curbside lending yesterday, I am even more excited after a few hours of filling requests, packing up books, and calling patrons to say, "your books are ready!"
We have about 30 bags ready to be picked up Tuesday afternoon. It was wonderful to deliver good news and know how important library collections are to your quality of life.
Keep making those requests through the catalog (or by email or phone message) and we'll keep working to get things ready for you. Please remember - right now there are only a couple of us working on curbside lending. We are going to go as quickly as possible, but sometimes you may need to wait until the following pick-up day. We will always call to let you know which day you should plan on. Thanks for your patience!
For some of us it's hard to decide what to request without being able to browse. I get it! We'll keep on recommending books and sharing word-of-mouth titles (see below for some available right now!). I'm hoping to be able to launch an easy way for you to give us an "idea" of what you like to read (I like books by Erik Larson, or I loved the book Bright's Passage) and we can choose a few for you to pickup.
We're just starting to receive deliveries of new books and other items. All of the holds lists are exactly the same as they were on March 16 so if you were on a holds list for something new, you'll get a call when it's available for you.
Thank you for your enthusiasm about curbside lending!
We may not have thought we would ever be in "this" situation -
but I'm so glad we're in it together!
