A message from Anthony Shannon

Hi all,

The NSW Minister for Health has issued a new Public Health Order to ease restrictions on gatherings and the use of premises in NSW. The order came into effect on 1 June 2020.

Under the new order, community centres are still not to be open to the public, except for the following purposes:
  • to provide a service to assist vulnerable members of the public
  • for counselling and support group services
  • as an early education and care facility.
Community centres can now also open for counselling or support group services. Capacity must not exceed 1 person per 4 square metres, including staff members.

If you have any questions about how the changes may impact your service, please contact your contract manager or send an email to TEIReform@facs.nsw.gov.au.

Please visit the DCJ COVID-19 response website for more information specific to TEI service providers and continue checking the NSW Government website to stay up to date on COVID-19.

Kind regards,
Anthony Shannon
