SOS Resumes Elective Surgeries

On Tuesday, May 26th, The Specialists’ One-Day Surgery Center began elective procedures. All elective surgeries will require COVID-19 testing within 72 hours of surgery. SOS is reaching out to patients to coordinate their surgery and COVID-19 testing. Learn more about elective surgeries resuming at SOS.

SOS is also working with Crouse Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital on a phased approach to conducting outpatient surgical cases.

You are now able to take a virtual tour of our state of the art Specialists’ One-Day Surgery Center!

Let's Get Moving!

This spring has been a long and difficult time for many. The lifting of lockdown restrictions and warmer weather is a welcomed invitation to get outside and be active. How can you relieve the cabin fever and maintain your health with physical activity while still being safe? Here are some ideas to safely get some physical activity and much needed social interaction.

FROLF
Frolf, also known as Frisbee Golf, is a fun activity that can easily fit in with proper social distancing. The principle of the game is the same as regular golf. Try to get your disc from the “tee” into the “hole” in the fewest number of strokes. Click here for a brief video overview of the game. Just be sure to wear your mask and maintain social distancing.

Frolf Courses:
Green Lakes State Park
Jamesville Beach
Heritage Park

TENNIS/PICKLEBALL
Tennis courts are open again. Tennis and Pickleball are great activities for social distancing. These activities require a bit more physical exertion, so masks are not a good fit for this activity. Playing singles helps insure everyone is maintaining their distance. Practice good hand hygiene before and after activity and try to limit cross contamination with the ball.

HIKING
Hiking local trails is a great way to get exercise, explore nature, and keep a safe distance from others. Hiking also burns calories, strengthens muscles and helps build denser bones. Click here to check out some great hiking trails around the area.

Living with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Dr. Michael Fitzgerald, SOS upper extremity specialist, explains the signs and symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and steps you can take to help relieve pain in your hands and wrists.

Safety at SOS

Everyone must wear a face covering at all times. All employees are wearing masks to protect you. We require that you wear a mask or face covering to protect them.

Patients must come alone to visits, unless they are a minor with one guardian or an adult patient needing assistance from one person over the age of 18.

Everyone that enters SOS must have a screening. This includes having your temperature taken and being asked a few questions.

These measures and more are in place to protect the safety and well-being of our community. Learn more here: https://www.sosbones.com/coronavirus-covid-19-information/
