The dictionary tells us that knowledge is the state or fact of knowing, familiarity, awareness, and understanding gained through experience, or study (AHD).
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7
Knowledge is Power. Knowledge is what you know, but wisdom is knowing what to do with what you know. If you combine wisdom with knowledge, you can get things done.
Colossians 2:3 tells us that it is in God that all “the treasures and wisdom” are hidden. This ultimate power that we receive from knowledge cannot be fully activated without the POWER of the Holy Spirit. Operating in knowledge alone is just like air; it’s available to everyone. However, wisdom is like the reflection of God breathing on us; we’re not just living, we’re alive. The Lord blesses us with the capacity to receive knowledge not just for us to hold on to it. Rather, there’s an expectation for it to be utlized and poured back out.
Luke 12:48 says, “To whom much is given, from him much will be required”
So there’s an expectation for us to pour out the knowledge that we have obtained. However, in order to do that effectively, we need to seek the wisdom of God. God’s wisdom is translated as we read His word, spend time with Him in prayer, and yield to the Holy Spirit.
LOVE
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.” -1 John 4:7-9
This is the origin of Love. Love may start off as a feeling, but for it to transform into God’s love, it must move beyond feeling to become a commitment.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:10, KJV) “For if we were reconciled with God through his Son’s death when we were enemies, how much more will we be delivered by his life, now that we are reconciled!” (Romans 5:10, CJB)
Therefore, after receiving His love, as believers we are committed to share that same love with others. Even in our sins, God’s love towards us did not stop, as proof He was committed to saving us. Likewise, our love too will be challenged to move beyond what we feel and make a commitment.
“...LOVE IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW.”
