Decisions from the Ordinary Meeting of Council held in Dumbleyung 21 May 2020.
- Council adopted the new Policy 1.64 – COVID-19 Financial Hardship
- Council approved the expenditure of up to $10,000 from Kukerin Townscape budget coupled with the $10,000 CBH funding to install a shade structure on the Kukerin Town Hall block at 37 Scaddan Street for a total project budget of $20,000.
- Council approved the expenditure of up to $500 from the Kukerin Townscape budget for a Little Street Library in Kukerin.
- Council approved the expenditure of up to $12,000 from the Kukerin Townscape budget for the Southern Kukerin Entry Statement subject for consideration in the 20-21 Budget.
- Council approved the expenditure of up to $1,100 from the Kukerin Townscape budget for Kukerin information signage.
- Council resolved to to participate in the National Redress Scheme
Council funded the following groups in the Bain Estate Future Fund round 2020/21:
- Dumbleyung Tennis Club’s application totalling $38,263.36.
- Dumbleyung Bowling Club’s application totalling $2,240.00
- Dumbleyung Hockey Club’s application totalling $7,590.00
- St John Ambulance’s application of up to $85,000
- Dumbleyung VFRS’s application totalling $905.50

Other Council Updates:
- Welcome back to Allen Cooper who is acting Chief Executive Officer while Peter Crispin is on leave
- Congratulations to Calvin Shotter our Manager of Works and Services on his new position at the Shire of Merredin. Calvin's service has been invaluable throughout his time at our shire. The Manager of Works and Services position will be advertised shortly.
- Overwhelming expressions of interest were received from our community for the $500,000 Drought Communities Program. Projects are being compiled to be reviewed at the June Council Meeting.
- The Australian Government committed $500 million to the Local Road and Community Infrastructure Program to support jobs, businesses and the resilience of local economies. The Shire of Dumbleyung is eligible to apply for up to $428,622 for eligible projects.
- Budget preparation is in progress for the 2020/21 financial year.

Reporting Streetlight, Water and Main Roads Faults
The easiest way to report these is via the responsible agency. Some handy contacts are provided below:
- For streetlight faults contact Western Power on 13 13 51 or visit their website for a very handy streetlight reporting system.
- For water leaks contact the Water Corporation on 13 13 75 or visit the Water Corporation Website.
- For regulatory road signs (eg: stop signs, speed signs, holding lines) or any problem with the Collie-Lake King Rd (highway from Wagin to Lake Grace) contact Main Roads on 138 138

All private work requests must come through the Shire office ONLY where a Private Works Request Form can be completed, if you are unsure of what is required please call the office on 9863 4012.
Please do not contact the Manager of Works and Services, Works Supervisor, any of the outside crew or any staff member in their private time.
