VIRTUAL CHURCH: St. Paul's worship, study & fellowship will take place online until further notice (at least through early June). Get details on how to access virtual video programs, including worship, meditations, and Worship & Wonder here: www.stpauls.net/virtual. More details on each service follow.

ZOOM LINKS: Due to security/privacy concerns, we will be sharing all Zoom Meeting ID's in our midweek email rather than on the website. Feel free to invite and share these meeting IDs with friends or neighbors, but do not post them publicly. If you want to call in by phone, dial this number and use the Meeting ID/Password listed below: (929) 205-6099.
NEW SERMON SERIES: We love a good superhero movie, but not every hero appears on the big screen. This is true in our Biblical stories and in our own communities. Unsung Heroes are people who are often overlooked and underappreciated even though their examples inspire us. This Sunday we begin a new sermon series in which we meet some unsung heroes of the Bible and look for heroes all around us.

UPDATE ON CAMPUS & BUILDING USE: The "St. Paul's Church Reopen Team" has begun meeting, with a goal of recommending guidelines for building use for both church groups and community groups. Until we have those guidelines approved, we are limiting groups to using outdoor space on St. Paul's campus. We have some groups (including our Boy Scout troop and a fitness camp) using outdoor areas only. If you want to request an outdoor reservation, contact Rachael at office@stpauls.net.

FIRST SUNDAY FOOD DRIVE: We will be collecting non-perishable food items for Urban Ministries' food pantry through Sunday, June 7. You can drop off food donations in the bins outside the Fellowship Hall kitchen, or make financial donations designated for the food drive through the mail or Simple Church.

THANK YOU to Enid Tallmer and all volunteers who provided breakfast for the women of the Helen Wright Center last Sunday.

PLEDGE UPDATE: Each week, the Stewardship team will share an update on the pledges we have received. In an effort to grow in our practice of stewardship and giving, St. Paul's has set a goal of 61 pledges for the coming church budget year (which begins July 1). See our progress here (each acorn represents one pledge). We will bless our giving efforts on Sunday, June 14 with Consecration Sunday, so please prayerfully submit your pledge by then! For details on how to submit your pledge, click here.

SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR ADULTS & FAMILIES: There are two opportunities for virtual Sunday School for adults and families! Adults of all ages are invited to join a Zoom Sunday School class Sundays at 10:00am (link above). Click here to view the Summer Participant's Guide that features daily Bible readings and additional context for our Sunday discussion. Family Sunday School is also available from Sparkhouse, designed for children ages 2 - 11. This curriculum includes a video featuring music and stories, as well as downloadable activity sheets. Click here for more details!
  • If you would like a mailed copy of the Adult Sunday School Participant's Guide for June, email amandakerr@stpauls.net
GROWING GOD'S LOVE:  This summer, we invite everyone to share videos or photos of yourself with this acorn image, telling others how you are Growing God's Love beyond the walls of St. Paul's campus during this time. How are you practicing Sabbath or growing spiritually at home? How are you reaching out to others, to serve or connect? Tell us about it, and upload your videos and photos at this dropbox link, or mail your written story to the church office.

FREE ECO-FILM SCREENING FOR FAMILIES - SAT, JUNE 6: For World Oceans Day, Cafeteria Culture is excited to host a free screening of our award winning movie, MICROPLASTIC MADNESS for youth and families. Be inspired by Brooklyn youth to take plastic free action! Click here to register.

LOOKING FOR NEW PUZZLES? A collection of puzzles was dropped off in St. Paul's Library/Office building and are FREE to anyone looking for a new puzzle. These are used puzzles so most all have of their pieces, but not all.

ST. PAUL'S BOOK CLUB will continue to meet during the summer months! Monthly discussions take place the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm via Zoom:
  • June 16: Lovely War, Julie Berry
  • July 21: Educated, Tara Westover
SHARING ST. PAUL'S COMPOSTING JOURNEY: On Tuesday, June 9th, Cathy Cralle-Jones will be speaking at the NC Composting Council’s Annual Meeting to talk about St. Paul’s Green Team and our experience setting up our composting program. The meeting is free and open to the public, so all are welcome to attend. The program will be online from 9:00am - 12:00pm. Three other speakers will be talking about what the State is doing to promote composting, what is happening in the schools and efforts across the US. Click here for more info and to register to attend. If you have any questions, please reach out to Julie Moore.

YOUTH MISSION TRIP, JULY 5 - 10: All middle and high school youth are invited to join our 2020 Summer Mission Trip to Asheville, NC! We are excited to be partnering with FCC Wilmington to work alongside Asheville Youth Mission. We will serve with local non-profits who do a variety of work including organic farming, assisting folks experiencing homelessness, serving in food banks, helping with house repairs, and more. Click here to register!

GIVE ONLINE: While we are not meeting in person, we invite you to keep giving to St. Paul's so that we can continue to do the work of the church in these uncertain times. Your generosity equips the church to care for the most vulnerable in our communities, while continuing to pay the salaries of our staff. Online giving is easy; click here to begin.

ST. PAUL'S STAFF continue to work primarily from home, but can be reached by email or phone. Phil Kraemer is in the office on Monday, Tuesday and Friday mornings. Please call the office if you need to speak with him (he is trying to minimize in-person contacts). Rev. Amanda Kerr will be on vacation June 6 - June 13.

HELPING EACH OTHER: Financial assistance may be available to people in need through St. Paul's Minister's Contingency  Fund. Contact Diane or Amanda if you have a need or know someone who does. We also welcome contributions to this fund, which can be made to St. Paul's with "Minister's Contingency Fund" in the memo line.

Blessings and Peace!  ~ Diane, Amanda, Phil & Rachael
