Update from Myddle CE Primary School.
Since the closure of the school in March, the staff of Myddle Primary School have been working alongside staff from Baschurch and Weston Lullingfields Primary Schools to provide care for the key worker children.
This has been a challenge for staff and parents but the children have been brilliant and made us very proud.
During the half term break the school was closed to allow staff to alter the class rooms, this was to ensure that we met the government guidelines and to allow for social distancing.
We are so excited to be welcoming back pupils from Nursery and Reception Classes from Monday 8th June, although school life will be a bit different for them, we are confident that they will adjust and settle quickly.

The Parish Paths Partnership (P3) News
Along with Shropshire Council and our Parish Council, the P3 group members have erected two bridleway gates on Hollins Lane bridleway and carried further drainage work. Hopefully the gates will stop the illegal use by motorised vehicles including trail bikes and 4x4s. Click here to see the laws relating to this.
A kissing gate will also be erected on the footpath at Pimhill.

The Gough Walks are being cleared and missing signs replaced. Videos that can be played on smartphones are being created to help walkers find their way on the Gough routes. Please find the link to the latest version of Gough Walk 2.   https://youtu.be/BVtyF2JpBOY
Reminder
Unless the landowner permits it, cycling on a footpath in England and Wales normally constitutes trespass, making it a civil but not a criminal matter. Much of our local woodland has a number of Permissive Paths allowed by the land owners who are concerned by the number of mountain bikes who are on their land and causing damage to the tracks and the environment.

Please call him 07906622133 or 291436 for this FREE SERVICE during this crisis! About 95% of the vehicles counted were recorded at 30 mph or below, however there are a few speeding drivers with one recording 47 mph at 20:34 on Sunday 10th May. The highest vehicle count was 36 in one hour between 16:00 and 17:00 on Wednesday 27th May. The June 2020 Pastoral Letter from Revd. Adam Clayton
Friends
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. (Numbers 6. 24-26)
At the time of writing this, we are still in lockdown due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19, albeit with restrictions slightly looser than they were the last time that I wrote to you.
We are still learning to operate within a new normal, sharing less space and life is far from convenient. We notice this mostly in regard to our weekly shop; being asked to queue as we enter shops, and we are still limited to how and where we can see our friends and loved ones.
Yet perhaps this slowing down of life is no bad thing. Perhaps being more intentional with our decisions, particularly regarding consumerism, will cause society to re-orientate and re-prioritise the way it approaches life. Maybe, when we settle into a steadier rhythm, it will be one which is less concerned with self, and more concerned with the needs of those around us.
I was struck by the recent words of Archbishop Justin Welby, who called on politicians to be “brave and courageous” as they sought to deal with the economic and social consequence of the lockdown. Speaking out against the imposition of extensive austerity measures, the Archbishop appealed for a vision to be set for society, in which justice and righteousness are the key stones of common life. Furthermore, that social care and tackling mental health are prioritised.
I was also struck by the recent words of His Royal Highness, Prince William.   Prince William called on people to embrace the “Christian teachings of faith, hope and love” as we “navigate our way through these uncertain times”.
In both the words of Archbishop Justin and those of Prince William, there is a call being made for us to set a vision for, and embrace society around, the teachings of Jesus. May we each spend some time in the coming days reconsidering our own approach to life. May we each recommit ourselves to playing our part in entering this next period of our history, with a vision that embraces the teachings of Jesus.
In Psalm 119 verse 2, we are told that the ones who keep the ways of God and seek Him with their whole heart, will be blessed.
Adam
I hope the following prayers are helpful.

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever
Amen.

O God,
help me trust you,
help me to know that you are with me,
help me to believe
that nothing can separate me
from your love
revealed in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ
you taught us to love our neighbour,
and to care for those in need
as if we were caring for you.
In this time of anxiety, give us strength
to comfort the fearful, to tend the sick,
and to assure the isolated
of our love, and your love,
for your name’s sake.
Amen.
