FLY

Pastor Katie Culbert, Guest Worship Leader
Sarah Dan Jones, Music Director

The bird is an intriguing metaphor appearing in many religious traditions, stories, songs and legends. We have long been fascinated by (or sometimes afraid of) the winged creatures. What lessons can we learn through the lives of birds and how can we apply these lessons during this unusual time in our lives?

This Service will be LIVE STREAMED

Vespers -TONIGHT! Friday, June 5 at 6:00 pm Join us for a meditative vespers service on Friday, June 5th at 6:00 pm. Before you join us for this service, I ask you to find a quiet place in your home, one that feels peaceful to you. Bring with you a chalice or candle to light. I also ask that bring three familiar objects. Objects that you see every day, it could be a stone or a coffee mug that you use regularly. Your objects might include a piece of jewelry or something that sits on the shelf in your home. Don’t think too hard, just gather your objects before the service. Sarah Dan and I look forward to spending some time with you on Friday.  See you then.
Be well,
Rev. Linda

Special Meeting, June 14th The Special Meeting on June 14 will be at 11:00 via Zoom. BE ON THE LOOKOUT  for an email,  which will be sent out to all members at the beginning of the week explaining the process which will be used as this format is new to all of us. Included in the email will be the names of those able to help set up Zoom as well as a couple of opportunities to allow people to practice using Zoom if they would like. Please plan on attending the meeting on Sunday, June 14 as a quorum is needed. Click here for our Proposed Mission/Vision Statement And Slate of Officers with Bios

Mission/Vision Statement Conversation Opportunity and Vote Want to know more or hear again about our proposed Mission and Vision Statements? The Mission/Vision team is holding two meetings to offer Starr King UU Fellowship members another chance to discuss these statements. If you have questions, want to know more, or simply want to support the team, join the on Zoom Sunday, June 7th at 11:00 am or on Wednesday, June 10 at 1:00 pm. Please check our website, starrkingfellowship.org, for links to those meetings.
On Sunday, June 14, at our Special Meeting we will be voting to adopt these statements.

Zoom Upgrade:  It has been so wonderful to stay in community through all the recent upheaval. One important part of that is our ability to meet through Zoom. We are pleased to let you know that Starr King has now expanded its Zoom availability. Please contact our resident Zoom juggler/Administrator, Lisa, at least 24 hours prior to have her set up your meeting. Note: Lisa will soon be on reduced summer hours so the sooner you get her the information regarding your meeting, the better. If you have a reoccurring meeting already set up, please contact Lisa for the new access password which will take effect June 1st. THERE IS NO CHANGE TO ACCESS A MEETING, ONLY IF YOU'RE HOSTING.  Please remember only Starr King meetings and activities are eligible to use our Zoom accounts. Lisa can be reached at admin@starrkingfellowship.org

Religious Education  The children are having their own service every other Saturday led by Ruby Weldon and Bear.  Other adults help with parts of the service, too. The kids have a story, sing the UU song, do some activities and share what is happening in their lives.  They are staying joyfully connected until we can all be together.

Show us your face! Please keep them coming! Email your photos to: suzangannett@ymail.com
