On this holy and auspicious day of Saka Dawa, as we celebrate and honor the birth, enlightenment, and mahāparinirvāṇa of Lord Buddha Śākyamuni, Sachen Foundation would like to take this opportunity to announce the launch of the Sachen Archive Initiative (SAI).
Under the direction of His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin, Sachen Foundation has established SAI to archive the precious teachings and translations of both the Sūtrayāna and Vajrayāna, with emphasis on texts and practices associated within the Sakya tradition. For the benefit of practitioners we have launched the start of an extensive and growing library of prayers, Mahāyāna practice texts, liturgies, and more.
SAI has also launched a Sakya Resources directory to connect students to the plethora of online courses, lectures, publications, and other resources that Sakya centers, translators, and affiliated organizations around the world have published.
We are also delighted to announce the publication of a new Tibetan-English language prayer book complete with liturgical texts commonly recited in the Sakya tradition. The prayers included in the publication were chosen under the advisement of their Holiness’ the 41st Sakya Trichen and the 42nd Sakya Trizin. The book can be downloaded on the SAI website, click here.
As new translations and texts are submitted we will update our site with the latest publications. Please enjoy and may these sublime texts serve as an excellent addition and resource for your practice.
