A Community Caring for Kittens
Our volunteer kitten foster parents celebrate Hug Your Cat Day by caring for over 85 kittens since Kitten Season 2020 launched in early March. We have tons of cuteness, and the kittens keep coming!
Meet the Candy Bar Crew
These underaged kittens were rescued from the San Jose shelter, and were dehydrated, thin, and flea infested. Now they are in a loving foster home receiving the care they need. We will be taking applications June 17, in the meantime, they will be staring in our SVPP Kitten Webcam via Facebook Live starting today (June 4th)!
Reese
Reese is the big sister of the group, literally and figuratively, regularly clocking in at twice Twix's weight. She is the most confident of the bunch and is the first to run out of the pen and explore her surroundings.
KitKat
KitKat is the most independent of the group. If you don't see her on the camera, she is probably sleeping under the bed, instead of in it. She is most likely to be off doing her own thing and often lets her siblings eat first so she can grab a couple extra Z's
Twix (left) & Snickers (right)
Twix is our scraggly princess! She is the runt of the litter, but that doesn't stop her from fighting Snickers for the first spot in the bottle feeding line! After eating she prefers to fall asleep on your shoulder.

Snickers is your classic momma's boy! Always the first to yell for food, and is more interested in climbing you than exploring his space. He's the only boy and often roughhouses with his sisters.
Foster Highlight
When Julia Cho’s senior year at MIT was cut short due to Covid-19, she decided to do something she had always wanted to do: foster kittens. Her first commitment for SVPP was providing a break for a foster mom of two critical-care kittens. After that, Julia proceeded to foster her own pre-weaned kitten family of three, complete with three hourly meals overnight! To help raise awareness for kitten season, she also live-streamed her foster family for the Kitten Cam on the SVPP Facebook page and helped test a new application to track fosters and enhance the foster care process.
When she starts Harvard Medical School this fall, it will be with a kitten of her own. She adopted Newton, one of her three foster kittens that thrived with her care.

"The most rewarding thing has been just watching them grow into fully-fledged kittens with their own unique personalities and interests. I still find it funny that Lovelace was the smallest of the three but she learned how to walk, run, jump, and climb weeks ahead of Newton,” Julia said.
Did you Know?
We have raised over $4,300 for our kitten campaign with the goal of reaching $10,000 to support our 2020 kitten foster program until the end of the year. The kittens will continue to arrive for many more months, and your support allows us to provide medical care and supplies for these orphaned felines, and find them loving homes.
