After a 40-year decline, the marriage rate has remained stable since 2010

The U.S. marriage rate has been stable since 2010 after declining nearly 60 percent from 1970 to 2010, according to the first report from the new Marriage Strengthening Research and Dissemination Center. The report reviews recent research on trends in dating, marriage, cohabitation, and divorce for heterosexual couples, and offers important implications for future research and for relationship education efforts, including federally funded healthy marriage and relationship education programs. 

To reach children experiencing homelessness, ECE and housing agencies can share data

A new Child Trends brief developed for the Administration for Children and Families’ Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation finds that states struggle to serve homeless children and families in part because of varying definitions of homelessness and the difficulty of reaching families staying temporarily with friends or family. To increase access to high-quality early care and education for children experiencing homelessness, the authors encourage states to explore how they collect data, strengthen agency relationships, and more.

Strong relationships between ECE and housing systems can benefit children experiencing homelessness

A new Child Trends brief produced by the Administration for Children and Families’ Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation describes key barriers and considerations for helping children experiencing homelessness access early care and education.
