Hi dance family,
As you see above, I am producing the final showing of GWYN.
I am so proud of Janna and Mira, who through this crazy time are continuing to make work.  Their performance might not be live as we had initially planned, but it is present now.  The work has changed, shifted and morphed and I can't wait for all of us to witness this process tonight.

So, tune in at 8pm by going to www.facebook.com/bodymeld/live
IT'S FREE
BUT, please consider donating a little something (if you are able to afford it) in order to secure the next GWYN season.
Chip in for GWYN 20/21
Why should you donate?
Well, here are my BIG news!
Me and my family are moving back to Bulgaria for the next year or so. Regardless of my physical presence,  I feel that Get What You Need program is even more vital post COVID. With closed theaters and studios, canceled festivals and gigs, artists need to figure out what's next.  How can they pivot and still continue to bring forth value, culture, new thought and dare I say entertainment to their audience?
I need to secure a future for this vital program and with every dollar I raise, that would make it more possible.

GWYN next steps for 20/21:
I have asked four women I know who's value system aligns with mine to help me transition GWYN program in the post COVID world. They are Megan Bridge (Co-director of Fidget) Katherine Desimine (Perform), Katie Vickers (Practicing Performance), and Janna Meiring (Artist and Dance Writer).  In the next 2 months we will be collecting data about what do our multifaceted Philly dance makers need NOW and encouraging folks who are interested to jump in with us in re-imagining GWYN 20/21.  Then come October this year, we will have a brand new Get What You Need program, that reflects the new times we live in.
Jeanine Durning VIRTUAL workshop
***More details on exact times and price coming soon***
We've been working on trying to re-schedule the Jeanine Durning workshops. We wanted to see if we could postpone until the winter, but with so much uncertainty we've decided to do it virtually. That way we know we will definitely make it. We are working on solidifying dates in July and re-imagining the structure. So keep your eyes open on Instagram(@bodymeld) and Facebook for announcements.  If you have thought on format and what you think would work best, please let me know.

FUTURE FUTURE FUTURE...
I have so much more to share, as my future of moving overseas unfolds again.  We are hoping to leave for Bulgaria sometime this summer, but we are still waiting for VISA for my husband.  We will be living with my parents there, which is such a blessing.  I am hoping to start teaching online and start producing my own work again. Its been an interesting exercise in imagining how much more involved with Philly I could become once I have some help with my kids.
Another hopeful thing is that in Bulgaria the Ministry of Culture just released $2.5 million to stimulate culture during COVID... Crazy right... its a one time stimulus for just culture.  Here in the U.S. the opposite is happening. I'm hopeful that though connections in Bulgaria and Europe I would be able to host artistic exchanges in the future.  May be even be more able to produce in Bulgaria...  So, keep your eyes open, I'll probably have another piece coming toward the end of the year.
