Alberta State of Public Health Emergency Will Not be Renewed |
Premier Kenney has indicated that the upcoming June 15, 2020 expiry of the public state of health emergency will not likely be renewed as the province prepares to enter Stage 2 of Alberta’s reopening as early as June 19, 2020. The Emergency Order has been in place since March 17, 2020. Should the province see another spike in cases, it is possible the state of public health emergency can be extended. |

GOA Relaunch Strategy Mask Initiative
The Alberta Government’s relaunch strategy includes providing free non-medical masks to Albertans who need them. Tim Hortons, A&W and McDonald’s restaurants are partnering with the Alberta government to distribute non-medical masks at no cost through their drive-thru locations across the province, starting next week. Mask use is not mandatory, and the program is intended to supplement an individual’s efforts to acquire non-medical masks through Alberta retailers.

Commercial Tenancy Support Feedback Survey
Tenants and landlords can fill out a survey via alberta.ca to help gauge any challenges they may be experiencing while working together to develop a payment schedule, paying their rent, or meeting other financial obligations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Survey results will give the government further insight into the types of issues businesses and landlords are experiencing, and whether they have been able to access available supports. These insights will aid in determining whether additional measures are needed to support businesses struggling to pay rent during the COVID-19 pandemic.
