The world needs Jesus. Another senseless evil act happened this week that has sent shockwaves straight to the hearts of those who watched and heard of it. George Floyd was killed before our eyes, a police officer kneeling on his neck as George pleaded and cried out that he couldn't breathe. Racism is a great evil that plagues our continent and the hearts of many. It can be hidden, it can be twisted to appear something else, but in moments like these we can see it lead to the blatant disregard for human life. We cannot leave this evil unchecked in our communities, our churches, or our hearts. It has the ability to live undetected even to its host. The Spirit of God yearns for us to purge the evil of racism from our midst, so if you're reading this, please do an honest reflection within yourself, do you house racist thoughts, intentions, and biases? If your answer is no, I don't think you're looking deep enough. We all need to surrender and give up the stronghold Satan finds in our hearts of racism. We are all sinners, we are not perfect, but Christ is. And if left unchecked and unsurrendered, racism will affect your actions and thoughts, even unknowingly. The good news of Jesus Christ is for all, but you may be hindering it's spread because all are not equal in your eyes. You may be scattering and sowing seeds of evil because all are not equal in your eyes. In Isaiah 1:16,17 God calls to His people: "Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause." Don't harden yourself from doing what God wants to do through you. Don't silence your voice against oppression, justice, and the cause of those treated unfairly by society. May God use us as instruments of His freeing and transforming grace. We need Jesus.

N: Nutrition
Fruits and vegetables enhance immunity because of the abundance of micronutrients. High anti-oxidant fruits (Berries, Plums or Prunes) and vegetables (Cruciferous: broccoli, brussel sprouts, spinach, kale and garlic which is also a natural anti-viral), no sugar intake.

E: Exercise
Exercise boosts your immune system within minutes. Try to find time to go for a walk (long or short) a couple times each day; start a vegetable/flower garden.

W: Water
It is important to stay hydrated for good health. Hot and cold contrast showers (3 minutes hot/30 seconds cold, 3 times) increase white blood cell count and circulation in the blood and lymphatic systems.

S: Sunlight
Sunlight on the skin produces vitamin D which boosts immunity and your mood. Spending time outside in nature, walking or gardening helps us not only to get more sunlight, but better rest and fresh air.

T: Temperance
Practice temperance in areas like: media (cellphones, computers, TV, etc.), getting enough sleep, food intake and portion control.

A: Air
Go outside and breathe in the fresh air produced by trees. Germs can circulate inside buildings, so on days when you can’t get outside be sure to refresh the air by opening the windows and breathe deeply.

R: Rest
Sleep deprivation decreases the number of natural killer cells. Getting a good night’s sleep boosts the immune system by enhancing the T-cells in the body, which adhere to and destroy cells infected by pathogens or viruses. Sleep renews and heals worn down body systems.
Studies also show that the body benefits from a weekly rest. We can be thankful that the Lord gave us a rest day from the very beginning, giving us an example that we can follow for our physical and spiritual health today.

T: Trust in God:
Resting your faith in God not only gives you spiritual and mental peace, but science is now studying its effects on physical healing and disease, in the lowering of cortisol levels and the increase of white blood cells.
“And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7
