THE FOREIGN MISSION MONTHLY NEWS UPDATE FOR JUNE 2020

LETTERS FROM THE FIELD

(But first a Disclaimer note:)
As your Administrator, I take zero credit for any of the good deeds that take place, or are referred to in the letters you see published. They are often written to me directly and I find it best to just publish the letters in full (in their own words) instead of going back and forth with edits and permission requests.

This note will once again inform our loved ones abroad, that the help comes from the Lord through His children, and is never the result of one or a few people doing something under their own power to help. All glory and thanks go to God!

With that, please enjoy the letters below!
-John R.

From Kenya:
Dear Disciples of Christ,

God's peace be with you all. Thank you very much for your support and prayers. Pastor Simon's sickness varies; sometimes it improves and sometimes it worsens. We are thankful for the discharge of Simon from the hospital.

We are giving our Lord Jesus Christ glory for you and your beloved team. God bless you richly. You are shining like a morning star in the Lord Jesus through your good teachings, building churches, donations of Bibles, helping orphans, and proclaiming God's Word all over the world.

Our beloved Pastor Simon is lonely, but your support has uplifted the hearts of many. We pray for God to continue stretching His hand to bless many and bring forth more testimonies of the power of the saving name of Jesus Christ. Please pray for us to receive Bibles as well, in Jesus’ name.

We pray to shine the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the Bible says:
''And let us not weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9 KJV)

“A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in His holy habitation.” (Psalms 68:5 KJV)

“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:27 KJV)

God bless you abundantly,

Enock and James

NEWS FROM THE FIELD: INDIA

God's peace. Today Pastor Nehru (the Pastor who serves the Lepers full time)  received the medical help, he is so thankful. Please continue to pray for him and his wife's health too.

Have a blessed day,   Pastor K

From India:
Greetings to you all in Jesus’ name.
I hope the situation is returning to normalcy after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Covid-19 pandemic is multiplying rapidly in India. Our country will probably have the largest number of cases by the end of July. Because of the dense population, congestion, and the economic constraints (coupled with ignorance) the positive cases are increasing rapidly, almost doubling for every fortnight. We don't know what the outcome will be in the coming months, but the projections are very grave.

Though the government lifted the lockdown due to economic reasons, people are still apprehensive-- it's almost out of hand. Worship places are getting reopened, but believers are fearful. Moreover, our church buildings are very congested without proper ventilation, so people are afraid of going to the services. On one side is fear and the other side is hope in our Lord. Only hope in the Lord can enable the church to feel joyful despite the situation. Our great God is in control, He reigns over the pandemic.

Let me know how things are going with the ministry. Continue to pray for the tribal areas; they are very thankful for all the support. Thank you so much.

With regards,

His servant, Dr. Solomon

From India:
Thanks to the FMB and to you for your love and concern.

Yesterday we were unable to have Sunday worship services. For several weeks now, the virus cases have been spreading in the surrounding villages. In four nearby villages, individuals and families have been affected; some were taken to isolation wards in hospitals.

Rice has been given to pastors, donated by the FM Covid Food Special Fund (pictured below).

Please pray for us and the protection of God’s children in our churches.

  • Hospital bill help for a pastor's mother in Africa
  • Hospital bill help for a very sick man in Africa
  • Help for a woman in Kenya in fighting a long battle with an issue of blood
  • Medication for a trusted translator in Guatemala
OTHER HIGHLIGHTS AND EVENTS
  • Bibles for Ghana
  • Bible fund sent to Pakistan and Rwanda
  • 20 corn grinders delivered in Guatemala
  • Food distribution in many countries continues!  (to help due to Covid)
PRAISE AND PRAYER AND UPCOMING EVENTS
  • We have plans for trips as soon as the virus restrictions let up and things are safe!
  • Please be in prayer for our full-time missionaries in the field, as well as those that we know and love around the world who labor so faithfully in the Church. Curfews and restrictions make everyday life for a missionary so much harder.
  • Please pray for your Foreign Mission members. Even though there is no convention this year, there is still voting for board members. Three members are voted upon each year. Pray that the Holy Spirit leads and guides whomever is installed into His service!
"O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever."
(Psalm 107:1 KJV)

here in the coming months.

Top 5 List

Church Building Fund: We have a small, specially donated church completion fund set up. So far, several church roofs have been completed. The FM believes it best for the local congregations to put their own prayers, sweat, and treasure into their own church so that each congregant takes personal interest in the church. We do, however, enjoy helping such congregations finish their building-- hence the fund. We have many current needs for church buildings!

Emergency Medical Fund:  This fund is very helpful when we have a pastor, his family, or a church member suffering with a disease that can often be cured with just a small amount of money. Hospitals in most countries will not medically assist anyone unless money is paid up-front. Prayerfully, God has and will continue to use this fund to save lives and restore the health of those in need.

Poor Family Fund: Help in situations where a family is not able to feed, educate, or otherwise support their children due to death, injury, sickness, or poverty. Each situation is closely monitored.

The Bible Fund: We get many requests for Bibles. It is such a blessing to give the WORD of LIFE!
