BREAKOUT!
NEW Exhibition: Submit your portraits!

🌈CALLING ALL ISLANDERS...🌈 Have you submitted your self-portrait yet?
We need YOUR self-portraits for our new Breakout! Exhibition...

We are inviting Islanders of ALL ages, to submit a self-portrait in any medium - the only restriction being that it MUST be 10cm x 10cm in size. We want to collect as many self-portraits as possible, and recreate the exhibition 'My Millennium' from 20 years ago.

As a self-financed charity, Quay Arts relies on income from our trading activities to bring the arts to Islanders and we have set ourselves a fundraising target of £20,000 so that we can still be here for you when our own Breakout happens.

We want to bring the Island community together, under the roof of one gallery. Let’s make it bigger than 20 years ago, let’s beat the record of 13,626 portraits!! 😯

HOMEART #8 -
A La Mondrian!

Piet Mondrian (b. 1872 – d. 1944) was a major player in the Dutch abstract art movement known as the De Stijl (The Style) and regarded as one of the greatest artists of the 20th Century.

He developed a style of totally abstract painting which combined only straight lines and right angles, primary colours and primary values (black, white and grey).

Mondrian’s work continues to inspire architects and fashion designers, such as the contemporary designer Camille Walala.

Create your own MONDRIAN inspired artworks! See the full post on how to create your own here.
