An Invitation to the 2020 eSOSORT Virtual Meeting from the President, Eric Parent, PhD

Dear SOSORT Members and Stakeholders,

I realise that the past few months have been an extremely tough time for many of you. The cancellation of SOSORT2020 in Melbourne at SpineWeek was disappointing for all of us and not a decision taken lightly by myself and the SOSORT board. The Covid-19 crisis has also had a very real and direct impact on all of us.

Therefore, I am very pleased to announce some good news! SOSORT will be holding a virtual event starting with a live meeting  "eSOSORT2020" on Saturday June 20th, 10.00 am to 12:00pm (Eastern Standard Time, USA).

This event will include live presentations by the eight SOSORT Award nominees, and audience members will have the opportunity to submit questions of via the Zoom chat app. Additionally, I will deliver the 2020 SOSORT Presidential address and Dr. Paul Sponseller, president of the Scoliosis Research Society will provide an update on the Society’s recent conservative care initiatives.

More detailed information will follow very soon. Registration will open soon.  In addition to the live event, registrants will have on-demand access to the entire 2020 Scientific Program, including over 50 oral presentations and eposters for a period of 1 year.

The Board and I are excited to be able to offer this opportunity for our society to meet despite the current difficulties surrounding Covid-19. I sincerely hope that this announcement helps to lift your spirits, meet your educational needs and I look forward to seeing you all at  eSOSORT2020.

Eric Parent
