Dryads

June 1st: Festival of the Oak Nymph

This Pagan celebration honors the hamadryads (female nature spirits who are believed to inhabit oak trees). 🌳

It was believed that they lived only as long as the trees they inhabited.

Nymphs and Dryads were companions of the god Pan, particularly in his aspect of Nature god.

Calling the Dryads ✨

You can open your ritual by invoking the element Earth or with a devotional chant to Pan.

1. Light a green candle representing spirits of Earth or greenery.

2. Send loving thoughts to the Nature Spirits and ask them to join you.

3. You might use an invocation such as:

"Awake you spirits of the forest green
Join me now
Let yourselves be seen"

4. Sit quietly and just listen. Shortly you will sense the presence of the Dryads; often there are strange rustlings in the trees or vegetation. You may feel them as they brush past or play around you.

Wheel of the year

Lesson: The Wheel of the Year

Natural processes are a continuous cycle. The passage of time is also cyclical and represented by a wheel or a circle. The change of the seasons is traditionally celebrated in the form of holidays called Sabbats.
