Our Government advisors tell us that this period of easing lockdown is a time when we are at risk of the epidemic re-gaining a foothold, so we must at all times endeavour to maintain our social distancing at the club. Please don't be offended if the Committee Member on duty steps in to remind you or your family of this.
There are no changing facilities available at the club at the moment, so come ready changed. We also only have 'emergency' toilet facilities.
At the present time (although guidance is changing from day to day) we are not allowed to have organised activities such as racing at the club, but the Safety Boat officers may put out a few buoys for you to challenge yourself to keep your racing skills up to the mark.
Duties and Safety Boat Duties
With no racing at present we do not need PRO and ARO duties, and the OOD duties are being covered by the Main Committee, however we really really need to have Safety Boat Officers in order to allow sailing to take place. Duties will be contacting our registered SBO's shortly asking them if they are able to do duties at this time. We understand that some may be shielding or feel that their circumstances do not permit them to attend the club, but the more safety boats we can get on the water, the more we can allow boats on the water under our guidance rules.
Everyone doing duties, will have those duties credited
Swimming and Open Water Swimming
One rule that has not changed is that no-one is allowed to swim in the lake, tempting though that may be at present. The only exception is our friends at
who organise open water swimming with safety cover on a Tuesday evening. If you want to register to swim with them click the button below.
