Things are slowly starting to return to normal here at picture framing HQ.

Thank you to those that have been organising picture framing over the last month, I'm actually busier that normal, possibly with people having a tidy and needing things framed.

There are ways and means of getting some social distancing bespoke picture framing done; I can get photos printed, or you can order artwork to come here. People have also been posting things through the letterbox or leaving them in a safe place near the workshop.

I can then send photos of frame samples that I think would look good with suggestions for mounts or glass, or we can have a video call to allow you to see them.

For pick up people can come into the workshop and uplift the frame, or I can leave it outside when I know you are on your way, or I can drop it off if you're self-isolating.

In this newsletter I have a special offer for the month, a selection of frames completed over the last month or so, and some conservation chat.

Have a look here and see if it inspires you to get something framed.

Feel free to contact me using any of the methods listed below or phone 07753 689637.

Special Offer for May - 10% Off Any Jigsaw Framing

As a thank you for being a newsletter subscriber you can get 10% off any jigsaw framing organised in June.

A lot of people have been keeping themselves busy making up jigsaws, some with family photos on them, or a map of the local area, or even just a nice scene. So rather than tidy it away again you can get it framed to hang on the wall.

Valid for 1 frame only
You must be a newsletter subscriber to benefit.
Framing must be organised in June.

Child's Artwork
Child's Artwork

This parent was so impressed by her child's artwork that she decided to get it framed.

Rather than cover the cut edges we decided to 'float' the artwork on top of the white mount and there's a spacer under the glass to stop it resting on the drawing.

The frame is now ready to hang on the wall to impress everyone that comes to visit.
Title Deeds

When this couple discovered the title deeds to the house amongst the other papers they decided to get it framed to hang in their new house.

The deeds have been wrapped in thin plastic to protect them and they are 'floating' on the mountboard. The frame is ash wood with a dark oak coloured dye and an antique wax.

This frame is now hanging in the hallway of the house and will be a great talking point for visitors.
Artwork

When your daughter paints your favourite movie poster for you you really should get it framed properly.

This Jaws poster has been stuck onto a red mountboard to match the writing and has a plain black frame so that the artwork stands out.

I'm sure this lovely family piece now has pride of place in the home.
Conservation Chat
Which type of glass would you like?
Did you know...?

Ultra-violet light from the sun and artificial light will cause artwork to fade. Sometimes the colours will start to disappear, or an autograph can fade.

Normal glass has around 40% UV protection, but you can get anti-reflective glass that has around 70% UV protection. It is also very clear so there are no distracting reflections.
