Renewal #29

Are you afraid of failing ?
Hello friends,

Would you consider yourself to be a risk-taker or a pragmatic? I have always been the latter. And, if it always allowed me to take wise decisions and stay away from extraordinary failures, it... also kept me apart from wonderful opportunities.

Even more than that, by observing my own behaviour I noticed how often my fear of failure will bring me on its very path. Because, as a wise friend told me this week: you can’t edit a blank page. Whatever you do and in whatever field you are, trying, playing around, experimenting, and yes, ... allowing failure to be an option is the only way to figure things out.

What's the worst that can happen?
  • Maybe someone won't like it... so what?
  • Maybe you will "loose" a little time and will have to try again. How sad 😢
  • Maybe you'll get a bad grade or be told off by your boss. Next time you'll know what to change.

As Nelson Mandela brilliantly puts it: "I never lose. I either win or learn."

Now, here is my question: would you rather risk failing or never learn?
— What I learned this week
Here's what I've been loving this week:
❛❛ One quote I'm loving : « I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying. » by Michael Jordan. Well suited for today's topic, right?
📔 One book I'm reading: The Secret History by Donna Tartt • I read slowly but I'm really digging through this book as it's rather fascinating. Have you ever read it?
— What I created for you this week
Here is what I've created for you this week, don't hesitate to share your thoughts with me in the comments ! 🙌
May 2020, Wrap-Up
May is already behind us. Here is what I've been up to in the last 31 days. What about you?

Life is a journey, not a race
I realized that if I think life is a race... I have already lost.

Thank you once more for reading 🙏🏾
See you next week,
Mathieu Céraline.
