Byte of... Hope

Welcome to FIRST Global’s Byte of… newsletter!

This week we're highlighting the inspirational story of our very own Team Hope ahead of World Refugee Day on 20 June.

The Refugees Who Became World Champions

Although the lives of refugees are commonly shaped by difficulty, the true story of a refugee is one of determination, grit, and hope. It is with these tools that Team Hope rose to the top as the underdog champions of the 2019 FIRST Global Challenge in Dubai. You can read more here:
https://first.global/stories/hope/.

You may already be familiar with their story, but we encourage you to check out the link and share it with others to demonstrate the impact of FIRST Global and the true power of STEM education. If you are aware of anyone who may be interested in publishing a feature on this, connect with us at press@first.global and we can provide them with more resources.

We Also Have a Surprise for the FIRST Global Community...

Make sure to view our Byte of... newsletter on 27 June for the exciting announcement!

The Impact of FIRST Global

Members of Team South Africa 2019 have been using their skills to create a sanitizer booth that will be donated to a local school.

Team Libya 2019 has partnered with other teams to host collaboration sessions, called the "FIRST eReach Series," with over 60 participants from 15 countries. They aim to use these sessions to not only learn from each other, but to also help each other take action in important areas, including public health and COVID-19.
