The AccSoc Ledger
Trimester 2 Week 3

With COVID-19 restrictions lifting and everyone finally experiencing the outside world for the first time in a few months, now is a great time to get some vitamin D (but also some vitamin E for Education!). With the term well underway and students adjusting to the new learning styles, it's a great time to learn outside of your online classrooms as well. AccSoc has a few educational events lined up, so make sure to check those out below!

We hope everyone is enjoying their term so far and remember to stay safe when venturing outside your house and maintain proper quarantine measures!

UNSW AccSoc Presents: Psychometric Kahoot

Want to get a taste of what it's like to apply for an internship in a fun and competitive way? AccSoc will be holding a Kahoot competition where questions will include:
- Psychometric testing questions such as patterns, next item in the sequence and numerical challenges
- General knowledge questions including current affairs and trends

The session will start with a quick crash-course of what psychometric testing encompasses, our tips on how to best tackle them and what you should look out for. Next, you will have the opportunity to apply that knowledge in the Kahoot. Like any other Kahoot, to achieve the maximum number of points, you will have to be both quick and accurate in your responses.

Exchange Textbooks without Contact!

Yellowbox is a network of smart-lockers found in the CBD, UNSW and Randwick, that can be used to store your belongings and exchange items such as textbooks.

In partnership with Yellowbox, we’re offering you the ability to use a yellowbox for free (for up to 2 hours) to buy or sell your textbooks for T2!

The seller simply books a yellowbox at an agreed location, opens and stores the textbook, and transfers the booking to the buyer, giving them access to pick up the textbook in their own time.

The code “ACCSOC” will give buyers an extra hour (on top of a free first hour) to pick up the textbook!

Why did you join AccSoc?
Having heard very little about Accsoc in my first year, I decided to explore and attend some of their events later that year. I was thoroughly impressed with their insightful and value adding initiatives as well as tight knit culture amongst the internal team. This led me to apply for a subcom role and since then I have been able to develop professionally, meet some amazing people and create some unforgettable experiences!
