A MESSAGE FROM FR. MURRAY
This week, we continue our post -Easter celebration of God and who He is and what He looks like by celebrating the central mystery of our faith in the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi). In many places, there is a tradition of celebrating First Holy Communion on this day, and although that is not the case for us this year, we may be able to do so in the future. It is an important day as it reminds us that the Body of the glorified and risen Jesus is shared in this humble way with the people gathered at His table.
This great mystery is one of the major truths of our faith that people inside and outside of the Church struggle with. We believe that during the Mass, at the words of Institution, (“Take this, this is my body..., my blood”), the interior reality of the bread and wine change. The essence of the bread and wine, while not changing appearance, changes internally. This is somewhat like a couple being married. They are still Joe and Mary, but now they are one new couple as a result of their decision and their will to be married out of love for one another. So, it is with the Eucharist. The appearance does not change, but interiorly the reality of the bread and wine is something new and grace-filled.
We say the Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith. We use it as a source of Grace to help us to live as disciples of Jesus Christ, and as the summit of our faith to remind us that no one is a Christian alone. We are the body of Christ together. Gathered around the table of the Lord, we realize our blessed position and our common truth that all are one in Christ Jesus, regardless of where we are from, what we look like, or where we live. (Hospital or manger, Park Avenue or park bench, as the saying goes.) We celebrate that the Lord calls all of us to His holiness and then gives us the means to achieve it in the Grace of the Eucharist. He trusts that we will seek others to join in this sharing too.
This year, beginning this weekend, we, along with all the Archdiocese of Boston, begin our celebration of the “Year of the Eucharist.” We will celebrate this central mystery and hope that others will come to know and appreciate and believe that Christ is present among us in this extraordinary and simultaneously humble way. I hope you will pray for your own deeper understanding and appreciation of this mystery and that others will come to the same profession of faith. As we journey along, we hope that the events, prayers, and teachings presented in this “Year of the Eucharist” will be helpful to all.
The parking lot Masses are going well, and we are planning to come inside in July. We are slowly getting ready for the protocols and training and preparing people to help. We will probably need people to help take temperatures, ensure people have masks, and assist in bringing people to available benches. Thank you for your patience, and we hope you will continue to keep safe. Our efforts to combat this virus are working, and we are doing our part and hope you will help us to achieve it.

UN MENSAJE DE PADRE MURRAY
Esta semana continuamos nuestra celebración de Dios posterior a la Pascua, sobre quién es Él y cómo se ve. Celebramos el misterio central de nuestra fe en el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo (Corpus Christi). En muchos lugares hay una tradición de celebrar la Primera Comunión en este día, y aunque ese no es el caso para nosotros este año, podemos hacerlo en el futuro. Es un día importante, ya que nos recuerda que el cuerpo del Jesús, glorificado y resucitado, se comparte de esta manera humilde con el cuerpo santo de Cristo en las personas reunidas en la mesa.
Este gran misterio es una de las principales verdades de nuestra fe con la que luchan las personas dentro y fuera de la iglesia. Creemos que, durante la misa, ante las palabras de la Institución: "Toma, este es mi cuerpo ... mi sangre" la realidad interior del pan y del vino cambian. La esencia del pan y del vino, aunque no cambia de apariencia, cambia internamente. Esto es algo así como una pareja casada. Aunque todavía son José y María, ahora son una nueva pareja como resultado de su decisión y voluntad de casarse por amor mutuo. Así es con la Eucaristía. La apariencia no cambia, pero interiormente la realidad del pan y del vino es algo nuevo y lleno de gracia. ¡Algunas personas piensan que a Dios le resulta más fácil convencer al pan y al vino de que pueden cambiar su esencia por la Gracia de Él, que a nosotros!
Decimos que la Eucaristía es la fuente y la cumbre de nuestra fe. Lo usamos como fuente de Gracia para ayudarnos a vivir como discípulos de Jesucristo, y como la cumbre de nuestra fe para recordarnos que nadie es cristiano solo. Somos el cuerpo de Cristo juntos y, reunidos alrededor de la mesa del Señor, nos damos cuenta de nuestra posición bendecida y de nuestra verdad común de que todos somos uno en Cristo Jesús, sin importar de dónde somos, cómo nos vemos o dónde vivimos, hospital o pesebre, Park Ave o Park Bench, como dice el refrán. Y celebramos que el Señor nos llama a todos a su santidad y luego nos da los medios para lograrlo en la Gracia de la Eucaristía y, además, confía en nosotros que también buscaremos a otros para que se unan a este intercambio.
Así que este año celebraremos este misterio central y esperamos que otros lleguen a conocer, apreciar y creer que Cristo está presente entre nosotros de esta manera extraordinaria y al mismo tiempo humilde. Espero que recen por su propia comprensión y apreciación más profunda de este misterio y para que otros lleguen a la misma profesión de fe. A medida que avanzamos, esperamos que los eventos, las oraciones y las enseñanzas presentadas en este Año de la Eucaristía sean útiles para todos.
Las misas de estacionamiento van bien y estamos planeando entrar al templo en el mes de julio. Poco a poco nos estamos preparando para los protocolos y la capacitación, y preparando a las personas para la esperanza. Lo más probable es que necesitemos un equipo de servidores para ayudarnos a tomar la temperatura al ingresar, asegurarse que las personas tengan puestas las máscaras todo el tiempo y, que puedan escoltar a los feligreses hasta los bancos disponibles. Gracias por su paciencia y esperamos que continúen a salvo. Nuestros esfuerzos para combatir este virus están funcionando. Estamos haciendo nuestra parte y esperamos que nos ayuden a lograrlo.
