Hello My Friends:

I have six short but important items for you today.

First, are you familiar with the language of lament? I hope so because it is prevalent in Scripture. Lament is the bridge between frustration and praise.  Lament is the language of aching visionaries who long for things to get better under God’s hand. In our current national scene, we lament specific wrongs and ache for God to act in bold ways to make things better. Lament is our topic this Sunday and I believe you will find this practice helpful to you.

Second, I want to again speak directly to all our persons of color and also to our immigrants. We love you and care for you. In Christ we are one and we are one in the Spirit. We stand with you, and we sit with you on the mourner’s bench lamenting wrong and longing for better.

Third, we continue in-person worship this Sunday at 8:30am and 11:00am. Please read our attendance guidelines. These guidelines basically come from our Governor’s office. All we ask you to do is read them and self-evaluate if this is the right time for you to personally be here. It is your call. If you decide to be here in person, we are very eager to welcome you.  And yes, by all means, we will continue to Livestream both services for those wanting to continue worshipping from home.

Fourth, Kyle Strickland, from our staff, is leading a new Online class at 10:00am on Sundays called Online Conversations. Kyle is walking through selections from the gospel of Luke where Jesus taught his disciples at pivotal points in their spiritual walk. Everyone is welcome. Join the class via YouTube here.

Fifth, remember to financially support our church family. One of the best ways is through online giving here. Thank you.

Sixth, this Sunday, June 14 we are hosting a food drive for the Second Mile Mission Center. Bring the needed items listed below to the building this Sunday, June 14 between 8:30am-3:00pm. Large boxes labeled with these items will be on the front porch at the main entrance of our building. Just place your items in the right boxes and you are done. Thanks for making a difference!

Here are the needed items:

  • Soup
  • Canned Vegetables
  • Pinto Beans
  • Peanut Butter
  • Rice
  • Pasta/Dry Noodles

All God’s very best to you,
Ronnie
